rssYahoo and Microsoft Partnership

There are various implications of the partnership between Yahoo and Microsoft not least of all for Google. Google have enjoyed 88% market share however with the rise in popularity of Bing set to be the default search engine for Yahoo search we can expect to see Google having to work a little harder to maintain market share.

What does this mean for publishers that utilise Yahoo search feeds currently to deliver additional revenue streams? Well in short, in my opinion its all good news! By combining both Microsoft’s and Yahoo’s advertisers into one search product publishers will be given access to more advertisers providing the users with a greater choice and increasing advertiser cpc’s which should be passed on to publishers. The Yahoo xml feed was always a strong proposition due to the flexibility of integrations however it has just got a whole lot more attractive!
